What initiated my love and inspired me to pursue game design?

There was a moment of epiphany after I played a certain number of games, that is, every game is not just a different individual existing independently but as a whole, they absorb each other's strengths, recreate them in a better form, and combined together as an evolving system that gave me the insight of gene. To create good mutation and to further push the evolution process and one day, able to breed a brand new genre is the main reason why I am interested in developing games, to sustain the system that provides countless hope and happiness to the world, even shape their thoughts, allow them to reflect their position in the world and start thinking about meanings of things. I hope that I can encourage many other children, adolescents, and even adults to try to observe, appreciate and embrace the beauty of creativity and the many possibilities that can be achieved. Last but not least, to live every moment in every day to its fullest, let experiences and feelings grow inside the body and eventually radiate innovation to the community, to the world.

What are my thoughts and vision about video games?

I think video game is the final form of art and entertainment that humans can invent. Every appearance of a new type of art had always come with a technological breakthrough, from painting, literature, and music to theater as the form of all the previous types of art, to the only type of art that does not only merge all types of art but also supports interaction, video games. Although there will be more technical breakthroughs in hardware and software in the future, interaction is the ultimate form of entertainment. However, that does not sound pessimistic to me, because even though there won't be a 'higher' type of entertainment art than games, I would still like to explore the border of games, to seek a brand new gameplay experience that is out of everything the current gaming industry is familiar with. Today, the game industry is stuck with certain genres that can make the most revenue. The potential economic value it has is large but meanwhile, the inertia from devoted resources makes the game industry difficult, even don't want to change, or explore and seek new. In the future, I will try to return the freedom of choice in making games back to the industry. I want to provide a game world that is beyond imagination, an experience of a journey that we never had, a chance to feel the emotions that we already forgot in this fast-paced world, and to explore the boundary of creativity to let the world witness the unlimited potential of video games, something that can change people, and change the world.

How I see myself in the future?

In 5 to 10 years, I will see myself learning all the necessary skills to make a contribution to the gaming industry in the Design Team, from level design, gameplay design, and systems design to design director because at that time I will understand how to implement experience with the structure of a game and how to communicate across departments to achieve that. With knowledge about game development accumulated over time, with a deeper understanding of how different positions and departments collaborated to succeed in producing a game, and with the demonstration of mature personal professions in creativity, experience, decision-making ability, insights, etc. I will become the creative director in the Project Team to conceive the gameplay experience throughout the whole game down to every detail, construct the vision and goals in each iteration, and lead the main development direction of a game.
